Biological Dynamics and Symbiosis

Interspecies interactions are the essence of life. Living things exist in cooperative and competitive relationships with each other. For any species to thrive, it must find access to food resources and be able to successfully reproduce itself. This is exactly the same in host-microbe interactions. Our lab aims to clarify the principles of the molecular basis for the complex interactions of host animals with pathogenic or mutualistic bacteria, mainly utilizing the powerful genetics of Drosophila.
